Mike Kinsey's Endorsement The Timberline staff and I collaborated to
make the perfect trail saddle. This saddle is built on Timberline's flex
panel technology that gives the horse the freedom to move with minimum
constraint and 30% less weight. The result: no sores or hot spots after
brutal pounding miles and days of riding.
We used a smaller horn to lessen interference for the rider's hands and
reins, but is sufficient to loop a pack horse's lead. I wanted the
cantle to have more security than a reiner, but more freedom than a
dally roper. This cantle allows the rider's pelvis more room to flex
without being trapped, but still gives security during those sloppy
scrambling climbs. Timberline's fenders are so flexible the saddle
doesn't need break-in time, and the flat bottom trail stirrups are
perfect for my beat-up old feet. The comfort of this saddle is
unparalleled. The drop yoke rigging remains clear of the rider's legs,
allowing freedom of movement when descending or climbing. In addition,
the saddle has been dropped closer to the horse's back to give it the
stable feel of a Western Saddle.
Folks who know me are aware I'm brutally honest. Well, honestly, not
only is this the best trail saddle I have ever ridden, this saddle has
quickly become my favorite training saddle as well.
I chose Timberline because the staff shares my commitment to quality,
attention to detail, and a desire to excel. I have been researching
trail saddles for years. Over the last 45 years, I've probably owned 150
saddles. During the arduous competitive trail rides I realized the value
of the flex panel system. We have had four different flex panel systems
at our facility. Early this Spring, I spent a day in the shop with the
Timberline saddle makers. This confirmed my impression and I choose
Timberline over other saddle makers.
The folks at Timberline want to build YOUR perfect saddle. I am proud
and honored to have my name on a Timberline saddle.
